Legacy Ride

John Hamilton, May 8, 2010

THIS columnist is just back home after spending a moving week roaming the battlefields on the Gallipoli peninsula where we ran into Doug Marr, an electrical contractor from Newcastle.

Doug and mate, Stuart Wilson, an army veteran with three tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan under his belt, plan to ride their motorbikes from London to Gallipoli to celebrate the centenary of the landing at Anzac Cove in 2015.

They're inviting other motorcyclists to join them - and raise $1 million for Legacy at the same time.

Doug has already done a deal with the Kum Hotel on Gallipoli.

He'll fix up its electrics in return for campaign space for 200-plus Australian bikers. Details on gallipolibiketour2015.com
