The Wallers Discover America by Road

John and Sue Waller have recently returned from yet another magnificent road trip across the USA. The great advantage of travelling across America is that you will often find yourself a little overwhelmed by the sheer volume of great things to see, everyday bringing with it another highlight. Having visited all the states in this vast country, they now return to some of their favourite places.

Fans of the great outdoors will enjoy the National Parks of Utah, Colorado and the wide open spaces of the desert country. The drive is relaxing and awe inspiring as the landscape becomes a moving picture, with every bend being more spectacular than the last. Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Oregon are absolutely breathtaking states and a must visit for anyone considering a road trip. Plus America is great value with some a great mix of motels and lodges available in the mountains and sea side resorts.

Pebble Beach is a legendary place that combines dramatic coastline and mystical forest that sits high on the Waller’s bucket list. This destination is also home to one of the most famous destinations for championship golf, where Pebble Beach Golf has hosted five U.S. Open Championships. And in 2019, the Championships will return for a sixth time!

As a keen golfer with an interest in playing some of the more challenging courses, John decided to take on Furnace Greek Golf Course in California. At 214 feet below sea level, this 18-hole course is also the world’s lowest elevation golf course. Palm and tamarisk trees frame the fairways and majestic mountains are visible from all areas of the course. Even if you’re not a keen golfer, there are endless Kodak moments for the aspiring photographer.

Then it was onto Disneyland with the family for the ultimate adventure. John and Sue were joined by daughter Christine, also a travel consultant at Boronia Travel, husband Steve and grandchildren Elissa and Emilia for seven wonderful days. This theme park is where it all began, and nothing really compares to the grandeur, the scope, the sheer audacity of Disneyland. Yes there are some spectacular attractions here, but the timeless lure of hopping aboard The Mad Tea Party (essentially a spinning tea cup ride for the kiddies), shows that nearly everything in Disneyland is a highlight, for the young and young at heart.

For anyone thinking of visiting Disneyland in the near future, we strongly recommended that you purchase a Disney Photopass. For $100 US you get professional photographers taking photos with all your favourite characters and at special locations too. You can even download all the photos and take them home. A great idea for any mantelpiece!

Should you ever decide to travel to America, then John is the best person to get in touch with to help you plan the perfect itinerary. He is very knowledgeable and well-travelled, and would have the pleasure of looking after you on your next big adventure.
