Commemoration Services in 2015

VietnamNext month on August 18th we commemorate Vietnam Veterans Day, which is the anniversary of Australia’s most significant campaign in Vietnam – the Battle of Long Tan. Since then, it has been commemorated every year as the day on which the service of all those men and women who served in Vietnam is remembered. We are pleased to advise that most Australian capitol cities and regional centres will be holding a ceremony on the day, while some may run event on the Sunday prior – 16th August. Blue Mountains, NSW
This year the event is on Sunday 16th August and will start with the parade and service in Macquarie Road Springwood from 11am to 12.30pm. In the afternoon from 4pm to 5pm, proceedings continue with the Beating the Retreat Ceremony with Lithgow Pipe Band at the War Memorial. Find out more >>

ANZAC Square, commencing at 12:00pm.
The Vietnam Veterans will form up at Jupiter’s Casino in George St, and march off at 12:10pm to ANZAC Square where the Service will be held. Find out more >>

ANZAC Park, The Strand adjacent to the Cenotaph, commencing at 5.00pm. After the Service there will be a get together at the Townsville RSL. Find out more >>

Hobart Cenotaph commencing at 12:00pm. The Laying of Wreaths will commence at 11.45am, by representatives of Federal, State and Local Governments, Australia. Find out more >>

Events commence with a visit to the Perth War Cemetery at 8:00am, before moving on to King’s Park at 10:30am. Find out more >>

8:00am: Gunfire Breakfast at Torrens Parade Ground
10:40am: March: corner of North Terrace and Gawler Place to King William Street
11:00am: Service: Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, Torrens Parade Ground. Featuring a Long Tan Commemorative Service
